A PERFECT ANGEL

She was a perfect angel on the last 2 flights. 15.5 hours on the flight from HK to JFK and she sat IN THE MIDDLE (refused to sit by me on the first flight), watched TV, played, ate, and slept. These 2 pics were on our last flight home, Jet Blue to Ft. Lauderdale. We were never so happy to get on a plane. Those last 3 hours flew by (no pun intended)
And there was SUNSHINE!!!!

HONG KONG

Yes, we made it to Hong Kong...They DID allow us to stay on the plane and I DID decide to keep her, but it was iffy for a few minutes :o

I even bought her a few things from THE DISNEY STORE at the HK Airport. And yes, she had another tantrum when she woke up. She refused to wear her green jacket and refused to leave the hotel room. Now, I would have also liked to stay in a hotel and NOT get on a plane for 15+ hours, but we have to go home! Wouldn't Mike have loved that phone call? " Hannah won't get on the plane, sorry honey, we'll be staying in Hong Kong indefinately. SEND $$$."
I added a pic of the view from our room at the Royal Hotel in the HK Airport. As you can see, their weather is no better than Guangzhou's, oh, and the green jacket IS ON!!!

THURSDAY JUNE 3

Today is the last day we will be with our new friends, and Hannah's last day in China. We went to the Island where the families had their medicals done, to the White Swan for Red Couch photos, lunch at LUCY'S , and a little shopping, all before we left at 5 PM for the airport. We got back to the hotel at 4. It was a mad dash to complete the packing and be in the lobby by 5. Good thing Susan had ordered the bellboy for me or I would still be there packing and checking, and rechecking the room. Oh how I wish I had planned to stay an extra day or two with no pressure. Now THAT would be a fun time in China!

Little Miss Stinker pitched a Royal Fit in the lobby of the White Swan Hotel because she didn't want to hold my hand. Threw herself on the floor kicking and screaming, kicked her legs so much her shoes went flying across the floor. Oh Ya, She's a DOOZEY!!!

Our driver got us to the airport in plenty of time. He was great the entire 2 weeks. I should back up here...Susan was leaving for home the same evening as we were so I decided to drive to the airport with her at 5 PM. I had to check out of my room by 5 PM and was supposed to go to the airport at 7. Our flight was leaving at 10:40. So, I thought why stand in the lobby of this hotel THERE IS NO PUBLIC SEATING ANYWHERE IN THE GARDEN HOTEL... I might as well check in and take the kids to dinner at the airport. WRONG DECISION!!!! You can't check in earlier than 3 hours before your flight. The Check in counter was closed...I had to sit with ALL our luggage from 5:45 till 7:45. No eating, no drinking NOTHING!! We're lucky we found a seat as others apparently had the same dumb idea I did and they were all sitting around waiting too. But they are Chinese, and they thought to bring food with them. Meg kept reminding me how we COULD HAVE went to eat at McDonalds across from the hotel, or went out to dinner with the other families... OK , well, too late now! We finally did check in and it took forever. Don't bring
carry-ons unless you have a husband with you to be the responsible one who can take charge, that's not me and I was miserable.
Oh, and remember that ROYAL FIT Hannah had at The White Swan?? It was NOTHING compared to what she did on the plane from Guangzhou to Hong Kong! NOTHING!!!!

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

This may be my last post from China. Oh my, it went too fast! It's almost 10 PM Wed. night. We came home from our last dinner in China, with our new friends, about 2 hours ago. Meg and Hannah have had their baths, Hannah is asleep, and Meg is waiting patiently for me to complete my posts for the night so we can finish our packing. Tomorrow we'll have an early breakfast and then go with the other families to see Shaimin Island for the very last time. They're all doing medicals, we are just shopping :) We have a late check out and then to the airport around 7 PM. Our flight leaves for Hong Kong after 10 PM. We'll stay at the airport hotel tomorrow night and catch our flight to JFK Friday morning before 10 am. We are scheduled to arrive in Ft Lauderdale at 8 PM Friday night.
If we have the chance, I'll post tomorrow after breakfast or in the afternoon before check out. We'll see what our schedule is like.
THANK YOU ALL, FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT, THE EMAILS AND COMMENTS ON THIS BLOG. YOU ALL KEPT ME GOING AND I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.
I'll be sure to post photos Saturday when I'm home.

OUR LAST SUPPER...IN CHINA

Dressed for the US EMBASSY

It's over, we're done, we're going home tomorrow!!!
Meg talked me into going to the local TRUST- MART in the rain. Not the smartest idea, it's a LONG walk. But she didn't want to sit in the room. So, here are a few pics of the store

RAINY DAY PICS

This is a close up view of the Koi pond at the breakfast buffet. The waterfall is 6 stories high, we are on the 13th floor. Looks like another all day rain. And it's COLD. It's always hot here so I didn't bring anything warm for Hannah :(

Breakfast again today :)

This time we added Rebecca and her parents. The girls had to put their lip gloss on after they ate. They learn so quickly :)

GOOD MORNING It's WEDNESDAY

Today's our big day!

I'm going to wake these sleepy heads up and go to breakfast.
